The day at PARI UNIVERSE by FISSURE was pretty packed: GamerLegion confidently swept 1win 2:0, while LEGION edged past Astra Invicta in a 2:1 series. On the surface, that looks like a standard day of play, but if you look at the maps themselves, there was early domination, drawn-out responses, and one very telling third game in which one team managed to take the series back for itself. I think days like this are the best way to show who can do more than just win lanes and actually bring a match to a logical conclusion.
GamerLegion 2:0 1win
The series against 1win ended without much suspense in the scoreline, but the maps themselves didn’t feel identical. On the first, GamerLegion took the game in 36:47 with a 29:10 kill lead, and the second lasted 48:18, though the result still went to GamerLegion — 32:22 in kills. To me, that’s an important detail: the team didn’t just quickly close out its opponent once, but was also able to keep control in a longer, more grindy game.
- Game 1: GamerLegion — 1win, 29:10 in kills, 36:47.
- GamerLegion picks: Invoker, Techies, Mirana, Axe, Sven.
- 1win picks: Puck, Nyx Assassin, Death Prophet, Dazzle, Terrorblade.
- Best KDA for GamerLegion: Fayde on Axe — 10/0/11, GPM 537; Yuma on Sven — 12/1/8, GPM 794.
- Best KDA for 1win: Whitemon on Dazzle — 1/5/6, GPM 276; 33 on Death Prophet — 5/6/3, GPM 456.
On draft alone, the first map looks like a very uncomfortable mix of tempo and control. Axe, Sven, Mirana, and Techies is a lineup that can not only fight, but also keep constant pressure on the map. Sven with 794 GPM stands out in particular: when your carry reaches that timing so quickly, the game usually starts tilting heavily in one direction. 1win’s draft, on the other hand, looks more reactive: Puck, Nyx Assassin, Death Prophet, and Terrorblade can answer well, but they need time and space to do it, and by the scoreline, they weren’t given either.
In the second game, GamerLegion didn’t crush its opponent quite as quickly, but it still looked more composed in fights. Sven was again at the center of things, and the Dark Willow, Silencer, Pangolier, and Timbersaw combination, in my opinion, works very well against drafts that need a clean start to a fight. RCY on Pangolier finished the map with 8/2/15 and 763 GPM — exactly the kind of performance where a mid or tempo core doesn’t just deal damage, but sets the pace for the whole team. For 1win, bzm on Earthshaker and 33 on Brewmaster had the best numbers, but that was only enough to keep the series from being completely one-sided through the second map.
What I like about a win like this is that GamerLegion didn’t look tied to just one script. In the first game the team won through early domination, and in the second it calmly closed out a longer map. For the playoffs or the rest of the tournament, that’s usually a very good sign: there’s both a strong opening and enough durability for drawn-out matches.
LEGION 2:1 Astra Invicta
If GamerLegion’s series finished pretty cleanly in terms of map score, this one was much more nerve-racking. LEGION started with a blowout 37:9 in 36:35, but then Astra Invicta answered with a very convincing 47:26 win in 54:43. In the third game, LEGION still closed out the series, winning 32:23 in 48:24. To me, this is exactly the kind of case where a team, after sharply losing momentum, managed to regroup and not mentally fall apart.
- Game 1: LEGION — Astra Invicta, 37:9 in kills, 36:35.
- LEGION picks: Lone Druid, Dark Willow, Winter Wyvern, Lycan, Storm Spirit.
- Astra Invicta picks: Centaur Warrunner, Witch Doctor, Nature’s Prophet, Techies, Puck.
- Best KDA for LEGION: Saberlight on Lycan — 7/1/23, GPM 687; Stojkov on Storm Spirit — 11/0/13, GPM 652.
- Best KDA for Astra Invicta: lorenof on Puck — 1/5/6, GPM 494; Nightfall on Nature’s Prophet — 0/6/6, GPM 660.
- Game 2: LEGION — Astra Invicta, 26:47 in kills in favor of LEGION, 54:43.
- LEGION picks: Brewmaster, Techies, Hoodwink, Tiny, Slardar.
- Astra Invicta picks: Witch Doctor, Anti-Mage, Windranger, Ember Spirit, Underlord.
- Best KDA for LEGION: Saberlight on Brewmaster — 8/5/12, GPM 622; Stojkov on Slardar — 8/7/10, GPM 502.
- Best KDA for Astra Invicta: lorenof on Ember Spirit — 15/1/22, GPM 686; Nightfall on Anti-Mage — 13/2/10, GPM 853.
- Game 3: LEGION — Astra Invicta, 23:32 in kills in favor of LEGION, 48:24.
- Astra Invicta picks: Lifestealer, Windranger, Centaur Warrunner, Dazzle, Ember Spirit.
- LEGION picks: Largo, Winter Wyvern, Lion, Storm Spirit, Terrorblade.
- Best KDA for Astra Invicta: lorenof on Ember Spirit — 8/5/11, GPM 564; Nightfall on Lifestealer — 8/4/6, GPM 664.
- Best KDA for LEGION: Stojkov on Storm Spirit — 17/0/12, GPM 697; Darklord,,` on Terrorblade — 9/2/11, GPM 887.
The first map for LEGION looks almost textbook in terms of tempo: 37 kills to 9 and a win in under 37 minutes. The Lone Druid, Lycan, and Storm Spirit combination, in my opinion, does a great job of illustrating constant pressure — the team simply didn’t let Astra Invicta get settled. Saberlight’s Lycan stat line is especially impressive: 7/1/23 is not only about damage, but also about being involved in almost every key fight.
But the second map completely flipped the series’ mood. Astra Invicta clearly found a way to answer: lorenof’s Ember Spirit with 15/1/22 and Nightfall’s Anti-Mage with 853 GPM are not just good numbers, but a clear sign that the team was able to impose its own pace and drag the opponent into a game that suited it. For me, the most interesting part here is that LEGION couldn’t repeat the pressure of the first map, even with the same players who had looked so confident before.
The deciding third game went back in LEGION’s favor, and here, I think, it was all decided by a cleaner execution and teamfight style. Stojkov’s Storm Spirit delivered 17/0/12 — an almost perfect game — while Darklord,,`’s Terrorblade reached 887 GPM, which is a huge number for a long match. Astra Invicta once again leaned on Ember Spirit, and lorenof once again put up strong numbers, but that still wasn’t enough to push the series into its own rhythm.
Day summary
Looking at the day as a whole, I get the feeling that both winning teams read the series tempo better and knew how to adjust to the map. GamerLegion quickly and calmly handled 1win, while LEGION went through a much tougher series and still edged out the opponent in the deciding game. For viewers, that’s a good sign: the tournament is already delivering not just dry results, but wins with very different styles — from total domination to a tense comeback in a single series. We’ll see whether the teams keep it up, because it’s on stretches like this that you usually see who can improve as the tournament goes on.

LEGION в третьей уже не отдала, вот это приятно
Оце приємно, коли третю не злили на нервах
Astra probably should have just kept the tempo and never let game three breathe. Once it slowed down, the whole series flipped.
Techies знову в ділі)))
