Hi! At PARI UNIVERSE by FISSURE, the first series I’d highlight is GamerLegion against LEGION: after dropping the opener, GamerLegion regrouped and closed the match 2:1. For me, the most important thing here isn’t the final result itself, but the way the team turned the series around after a very rough first map.
A series decided after a rough start
The Bo3 between GamerLegion and LEGION went the full distance and ended with a GamerLegion win. On paper, it looks like a straightforward favorite’s victory over the long run, but in practice it was much more interesting: LEGION took the first map, and then GamerLegion sharply raised the pace, holding the opponent to 11 and 16 kills on the next two maps respectively. To me, that kind of turnaround always says a lot about a team’s state of mind: after the opening stumble, there was no drawn-out recovery or any attempt to simply brute-force it through nerves — GamerLegion just changed the tone of the game.
- Series result: GamerLegion defeated LEGION 2:1.
- Series format: Bo3.
- Map order by finish time: map 1, map 2, map 3.
Map one: LEGION punished the long game
The first map lasted 42:23 and went to LEGION, even though GamerLegion led 27:21 in kills. This was one of those cases where the kill count doesn’t tell the whole story, and execution in key moments comes to the forefront. LEGION took the map with a more patient and, by the result, more efficient approach to the finish.
In terms of drafts, the map looked like an interesting mix of tempo and late-game power. GamerLegion drafted Slark, Dark Willow, Silencer, Earth Spirit and Axe. LEGION answered with Brewmaster, Hoodwink, Windranger, Earthshaker and Terrorblade. From the draft alone, both sides had strong fight and initiation potential, but Terrorblade on LEGION fits a long map very well: if the game drags on, the value of that core starts to show more and more. I think that was one of the key storylines of the map.
If you look at the individual numbers, Darklord,,` on Terrorblade stood out the most: 12/0/2 and 948 GPM. That’s an extremely strong performance, and by itself it already explains why the map went to LEGION. For GamerLegion, the most notable players were Yuma on Slark with 4/2/6 and 504 GPM, as well as RCY on Earth Spirit with 6/4/10 and 570 GPM. But even with those numbers, it wasn’t enough to close the game in their favor.
- Map duration: 42:23.
- Kill score: GamerLegion 27 — 21 LEGION.
- GamerLegion picks: Slark, Dark Willow, Silencer, Earth Spirit, Axe.
- LEGION picks: Brewmaster, Hoodwink, Windranger, Earthshaker, Terrorblade.
- Best KDA on GamerLegion: Yuma (Slark) 4/2/6, GPM 504; RCY (Earth Spirit) 6/4/10, GPM 570.
- Best KDA on LEGION: Darklord,,` (Terrorblade) 12/0/2, GPM 948; Saberlight (Brewmaster) 2/4/8, GPM 541.
Map two: GamerLegion quickly got back into the series
In the second game, GamerLegion didn’t let the opponent breathe: 29:35, a 34:11 kill score, and a very confident series equalizer. In my opinion, this is where it became clear that the first map didn’t throw the team off balance. On the contrary, after a short break, GamerLegion played much more aggressively and converted their map advantage far more cleanly.
The draft from GamerLegion was very direct and still dangerous: Invoker, Sven, Dark Willow, Night Stalker, Winter Wyvern. LEGION responded with Largo, Hoodwink, Void Spirit, Witch Doctor and Phantom Lancer. What stands out to me here is GamerLegion’s mix of tempo and control: Invoker and Sven look like a solid foundation for fast pressure, while Night Stalker and Winter Wyvern help keep the map locked down. LEGION’s lineup, by contrast, looked like it needed to survive the early aggression and find space for Phantom Lancer, but that space never appeared.
On the individual numbers, RCY had a brilliant game on Invoker: 8/0/16 and 716 GPM. That’s almost the perfect game for a mid laner who not only sets the pace but also avoids deaths. Yuma on Sven was also in great form — 9/2/9 and 776 GPM. For LEGION, the best numbers came from Danial on Hoodwink with 0/5/8 and 229 GPM, and Darklord,,` on Phantom Lancer with 4/5/1 and 534 GPM. But compared to GamerLegion’s carry and mid, those numbers look modest.
- Map duration: 29:35.
- Kill score: GamerLegion 34 — 11 LEGION.
- GamerLegion picks: Invoker, Sven, Dark Willow, Night Stalker, Winter Wyvern.
- LEGION picks: Largo, Hoodwink, Void Spirit, Witch Doctor, Phantom Lancer.
- Best KDA on GamerLegion: RCY (Invoker) 8/0/16, GPM 716; Yuma (Sven) 9/2/9, GPM 776.
- Best KDA on LEGION: Danial (Hoodwink) 0/5/8, GPM 229; Darklord,,` (Phantom Lancer) 4/5/1, GPM 534.
Map three: GamerLegion closed the match through total dominance
The deciding map lasted 40:25 and ended with an even heavier GamerLegion kill lead — 47:16. After the first map, I would have expected LEGION to try to play more cautiously, but in reality GamerLegion took complete control of the initiative and never let it go until the end. This is the kind of series where the shape really changes: from a tense first map to a very confident finish from the team that adapted faster.
The drafts were worth watching here as well. GamerLegion picked Dragon Knight, Windranger, Venomancer, Ursa and Puck. LEGION answered with Timbersaw, Dark Willow, Storm Spirit, Witch Doctor and Lifestealer. On paper, both sides had heroes capable of fighting and taking engagements at multiple speeds, but in practice GamerLegion once again used the map far better. Ursa and Puck stand out especially as a combination of pressure and mobility: that kind of lineup is extremely unpleasant to deal with once the opposing team starts losing tempo.
The numbers made the map almost textbook. Yuma on Ursa finished with 16/3/13 and 742 GPM — a very strong core performance in a winning game. Bignum on Windranger posted 6/1/23 and 379 GPM, which says a lot about the quality of team support and fight participation. For LEGION, the most notable were Darklord,,` on Lifestealer with 1/3/9 and 590 GPM and Stojkov on Storm Spirit with 8/8/5 and 485 GPM. But even with some decent individual numbers, the team as a whole fell too far behind in map control and initiative.
- Map duration: 40:25.
- Kill score: GamerLegion 47 — 16 LEGION.
- GamerLegion picks: Dragon Knight, Windranger, Venomancer, Ursa, Puck.
- LEGION picks: Timbersaw, Dark Willow, Storm Spirit, Witch Doctor, Lifestealer.
- Best KDA on GamerLegion: Bignum (Windranger) 6/1/23, GPM 379; Yuma (Ursa) 16/3/13, GPM 742.
- Best KDA on LEGION: Darklord,,` (Lifestealer) 1/3/9, GPM 590; Stojkov (Storm Spirit) 8/8/5, GPM 485.
Day recap
All in all, this series is about how a team can lose a very unpleasant first map and still reset quickly. After the opening defeat, GamerLegion didn’t drag the series out and answered with two very confident wins in a row. The pace difference really stands out: if LEGION managed to survive the pressure and close the first map, then on the next two GamerLegion imposed its own rhythm and left the opponent almost no room for long resistance.
For players and viewers, that’s a good sign: the series showed that even after a bad start, a match can completely flip if the team reads its mistakes quickly and finds a more comfortable tempo. I’d now be watching to see whether GamerLegion can keep that same level of composure going forward — especially after a series where it changed the direction of play so sharply after the first map.

Worth asking, do you guys think GamerLegion won this by better drafts or just cleaner midgame calls? Feels like the first map baited everyone into the wrong read.
Cleaner calls, easy
Legion played fine
Best buy for Sven?
